As you all know, last night, Boris urged for all non-essential shops, playgrounds and churches to be closed – following the pub and restaurant close on Friday. He has urged for everyone to stay at home, apart from once a day for exercise and an essential food shop. This is all in a desperate bid to prevent the Corona Virus spreading. This ‘lockdown’ will be monitored after three weeks.

Whilst the majority of the public agree with this decision, many are worried about their mental health – being restricted to the house with no visitors, no family and not being able to do what they normally would.

At Klick we are all trying to keep spirits high! As mentioned on a previous blog we are having two daily conference calls, this is where we will have a catch-up regarding work. We have also created a WhatsApp group chat where we are sending lots of pictures, jokes, videos and trying to communicate as much as we can so nobody feels lonely.

Here’s some tips on how to protect your mental health whilst on lockdown:

  • Get out and have some fresh-air and exercise (if) you can but make sure you keep your social distance.
  • Have a routine – try to plan your day, this way you can look forward to things, this can make your day go a lot quicker.
  • Maintain your social connection, keep posting on Facebook, speak to your friends/family on a regular.
  • Enjoy spending time with your loved ones. We’re all quick to moan at how much we work and how we’d love a day off with family. Try to enjoy spending time with your family you’re isolating with, play the board game you never get chance to, read the books that have been on the shelf since last holiday.

It’s all about keeping your mind active and positive, checking on your friends and family that aren’t with you, and trying as much as possible to keep everything normal. It’s not easy, and the majority of us have never been in a situation like this before. We can get through it together! In the midst of adversity let’s be thankful for what we have.

If you need us, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Even if you just need someone to talk to 🙂
